Recently, the great American football announcer and CMN friend James Brown, who is known as “JB,” told me something that surprised me about his friendship with NFL Hall of Famer Reggie White.

Reggie was known as “The Minister of Defense,” for his outstanding play and Christian witness. When Reggie left for heaven, Reggie’s wife Sarah gave JB one of Reggie’s prize classic cars. What this reminds me of, is the intimate relationship that names signify.

We read in Matthew the first chapter that an angel told Joseph to name his son “Jesus,” which means “Deliverer.” Matthew then recalls Isaiah prophesying that Jesus would be known as “Immanuel,” which means, “God is with us.”

“The Minister of Defense” and JB knew each other by something more personal than their given names. We have that same privilege. We know Jesus in a functional role is our “Deliverer.” But in a personal way, we are privileged to know him intimately as a friend who is, “God is with us.”

How very close and personal that is. What a spectacular promise for us today. God is with us.

Every day, in every situation we face, in every stress of life, against every obstacle and onslaught of a broken world, He is with us!

He is the God who says to you today:

“I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support.  I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless, nor forsake nor let you down (relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not!” (Hebrews 13:5 Amplified Bible).

God is with us! Forgiveness is alive, freedom is at hand, hope is fulfilled, peace reigns in our hearts. We are blessed by God’s delivering power, free from the grip of sin. Our lives are filled with joy. Our hearts overflow with thanksgiving for God’s generous gift, our Saviour and Lord, the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.

May the Lord cover your life this season with His presence. May you experience His delivering power and personally know Him as “Immanuel,” GOD IS WITH US!

His name is “Deliverer” … and he’s your friend – the God who is with you.

Monday nights were on fire throughout 2021 with three seasons of Monday Night Men being released. Even in the midst of the storms that rocked Texas, and significantly damaged our studios in February, your faithful support kept us streaming and reaching men.

The year kicked off as together we helped men understand the Power of Potential. From there we moved through Just a Bartender and unlocked the door to true identity. The final season was stout and challenging as we focused on what it means to be a Real Man.

Here are just a couple of testimonies that show how Monday Night Men is making an impact.

Monday Night Men is about strengthening our foundation in God’s word and developing courage for the journey – building a life filled with purpose and destiny. Together we can defeat fatherlessness, end child abuse, and raise up strong men who love God and love people.

A recent survey concluded that most of the world is dealing with high levels of anxiety and stress. I don’t think you and I needed a survey to tell us that – we see it around us every day.

That’s why the work of the Church and the Body of Christ is to bring HOPE!

When Jesus ministered from village to village the Bible tells us that He preached, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” He was telling them in the language of the day – HOPE HAS ARRIVED!

Pastor Michael Phillips stirred our hearts at the Lions Roar Global Summit a few weeks ago. I wanted you to see it again – or for the first time. It’s a powerful, inspiring message.

In fact – you should forward this email to someone who needs to hear this word. A friend dealing with anxiety, a neighbor going through issues, a loved one with an illness – this will help.

It’s Giving Tuesday and we have a deadline to reach men in one of the most dangerous parts of the Philippines. We have to move right now.

We have two broadcasts and two book translations set to launch in January. One translation is done, the other needs to be finished, and both broadcasts still need to be funded. 

The translation is $2,500. One broadcast is partially funded but needs $6800. The second broadcast needs $7,500 to complete. If all of us do our part – we’ll nail this.

The language we’re doing is for the most dangerous place in the Philippines. Over 6,000 people have died in jihadist battles. Hundreds of churches have been desecrated or destroyed. But, godly men have risen up.

Our friends need our help. We’re moving ahead.
